Braces in 6 months:

These are our most popular brace at the Dr Ghassan's Dental Clinic. These braces usually involve treating the front teeth only and the goal is to give the patient a great smile. We do not try to change the bite to any significant degree and the results we aim for are purely cosmetic. The  majority of our patients  get braces for cosmetic reasons anyway so this is a very popular way of getting a great smile.

With 6 month braces we are able to offer both clear and metal braces. The clear cost a little more but are much more discrete. While not invisible many people who were concerned at the start find that they are seldom noticed and are less conspicuous than they imagined.

We get many patients who come in for 6 month braces who were previously told they would have to wear braces for 2 years. If your teeth are not severely mal-positioned this may not be the case and it may be possible to fix them in 6 months.

How can it be done in 6 months?

The Six Month Braces Technique utilizes the latest technology combined with time tested techniques to move your teeth quickly and safely. We do not try to move all teeth with this treatment, only the ones which affect your smile. If you need treatment for a bad bite this technique will not be right for you.

Does the Six Month Braces Technique use high forces to move the teeth?

No. Actually the Six Month Braces Technique is a low force technique. Many people think we just “tighten” the braces more to get the teeth moving. This would actually slow down tooth movement. To reiterate, the Six Month Braces Technique is a low force technique.

Yes, we have both small metal and clear braces. The clear braces blend into your teeth making them nearly invisible.

Do you ever extract teeth with the Six Month Braces Technique?

We rarely extract teeth using the Six Month Braces Technique. We prefer to avoid this when there are any other alternatives.

How often do I have to come in?

Usually every 4 weeks for a 15 to 30 minute appointment, and a little longer for the appointment when we put the braces on. Usually treatment is completed in 7 visits or less. Also, patients of this practice are usually seen on time, so you will not be waiting long to be seated for your appointment.

Do I have to wear a retainer?

Yes, as with any procedure a retainer is necessary. If you do not want to wear a retainer very long you can have your teeth splinted together. This is known as a fixed or bonded retainer.
